Aruba, Jamaica, OH I Wanna Take Ya

Okay, so maybe not any of those places, but we still got to vacation in GORGEOUS Dominican Republic. The waters were bright, the weather warm warm, and the people were so welcoming! Except for when Sean got a gun pulled on him! Buttttt, that's a story for another time *giggles*.

How do you relax?

Before you proceed, you must know one thing:  we are a family of bears. We eat, we sleep, we repeat. Of course, there are things in between, but our favorite and most cherished activity is hibernating indoors during the winter. Snuggling on a cold Sunday has become my most beloved thing to do with my little family - a huge, warm, fuzzy pile of love ♥️

Happy first day of December!

What a better way to begin this CHILLY week in Seattle, than to document our nice and warm Tombstone, Arizona trip. I love how the embroidery floss reminds me of saddle stitching!

A love beyond words

My Cheedle-bear came into my life when I was 22. It was raining very hard that day, and my friend was driving me home, when she yelled, "Omg was that a dog?" We pulled over and saw the dirtiest, scraggliest little fuzz all we had ever seen cowering under a van. It wasn't until I heard a tiny growl come out that I knew she was very obviously a puppy still. I offered her some calamari, she came out, and we've been the best of friends for the past 11 years. She's seen me at my lowest point, and I truly consider her my best friend. ❤️

My Kind of Yard Work

This is my take on the StickitDown October sketch challenge. The design is a bit different for me, but I love that I was able to show my love of organic produce growing! Second year down, and forever to go!

Winter is coming...

It is chilly, FOGGY, and just downright dreary in Seattle right now. I love using bright, cheerful colors to lift me right out of this Washington haze!

This photo, of course, is one of my time honored traditions - the Del Mar Fair photo booth! Man, I miss those days.

Hello Sunshine

One of the things I most miss about living in San Diego is the Del Mar Fair (Even though now it's technically the "San Diego" Fair).
It is HUGE, full of entertainment, and offers strange (but yummy) snacks, such as this Krispy Kreme triple cheeseburger. Between the piggie races, petting zoo, and cool exhibitions, it's so over the top that it's perfect. And at the end of the fair, they do a firework show. I can't wait to go back.

Rainy Day Dreams

Those chilly October rains have returned to Seattle. Reminds me of (a little later) this time last year when I was blessed enough to stay home with my newborn, falling asleep to the rain outside.

Bloom Where You Are Planted

4 years ago, my life was going nowhere. I was in a long, dysfunctional relationship, had a dead-end job, and was constantly faced with hardship.  One day, I decided that my life needed to change if I wanted to see change in my life, and so I moved 1200 miles away from the only home I'd ever known.

Seattle is where life planted me. Now I'm employed as a business professional wanting for nothing, am happily married, and will be celebrating my daughter's first birthday in November ❤️ #bloomwhereyouareplanted

Getting Sketchy with Meggy

Growing up, my grandmother always had a BEAUTIFUL rose  garden. When she passed, I started a rose garden of my own so she can always feel close. I've found there is progress in the pain, and as these flowers grow on, so do I.

TSNSKT Disney Princess Challenge

In this month's TSNSKT party, we had to pick a corresponding Disney princess' color scheme and make a layout with it. Since I'm perma-obssessed with The Little Mermaid, of course I picked Ariel. 🧜‍♀️

I used some scrap paper, white gesso stamped through a stencil (which I don't recommend, since it didn't come out cleanly), and embellished à la Shimelle with "Box of Crayons." All in all a fun and quick layout!
