My Rainbow Chair

Catching up on last week's Scraplift Sunday, I did a reverse rainbow to @4momsed 's beautiful piece of art. I've been working on expanding past my usual neat layers and symmetrical elements. I'd say I'm pretty proud of myself for going way outside of my comfort zone!

This story is about my rainbow chair. When we went to visit Sean's aunt and uncle, she had this GORGEOUS custom reading room, the Rainbow Room. It inspired me to create a similar nook on a much smaller scale, of course. I bought and hung several etched crystal spheres in the window behind my chair, and the way the setting sun's setting light paints mini rainbows on us is just magical.

Mermaid Nails!

I had recently seen pictures online about nail art involving overlapping dots, starting from one end of the nail to the other.

It sounded so easy...and it was! It just took about 86,310,664 hours :/ It was fun and got lots of compliments though! Next time I would definitely not use a fast drying polish... I had to keep applying more and more to the paper I was using for my dots. Maybe next time I'll use a orange and brown palette for the upcoming fall season!

Polish used:
Dots- Sinful Colors "Mint Apple", LA Colors "Green Tea", Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Lickety Split Lime", Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Mint Sprint".

Thumb and pinky- NYX "Enchanted Forest"

Masquerade!

My friend Tiffany had a masquerade themed party for her birthday last year and never got around to posting the pictures of the two masks I had made for my friend Tabby and I. For one I attempted to make a light to dark glitter gradient with a pearl border and a respective feather gradient above the eyes, and for the other, I just painted, swirled a random design with glitter glue, and applied some stars under the eyes and a sequin border. The swirls were still wet when I took the pictures, but became completely flat after it was dry. :) It was fun, especially the playing with glitter part. Enjoy!

And here's us with Tiffany's GIANT gorgeous mask (no, she didn't make it, she purchased it lol)
