November Papercraft Business Challenge

Hi there! This month's challenge theme is focused

on gift giving. One of my sweet friends has been going through a really rough time with their mother. She absolutely adores Halloween! So I made her a cute little personalized Wicked Weeks of Halloween book!

Using my Cricut Maker, I used a pumpkin template to cut out 28 pages and 2 covers. For the pages, I used the outer covers of the paper pack, lined with cardstock. The pages were comprised of 2 pages adhered together. If you do this, don't forget to change the orientation so the sides match!

Afterward, I punched two holes on the outer left hand side, and threaded two binder rings through them. I found a pack of 6 at Dollar Tree!

To help speed things along, I made sure I had a stash of pre-cut Halloween related items (ghouls, ghosts, bats, haunted houses, spider webs, skulls). That way I could assemble, glue and go!

All in all it was a fun project to do! I hope you hop on over to Papercraft Business Challenge Blog to check out future challenges!

Tag! You're It | October Papercraft Business Challenge

Hi all! And thanks for joining me for another Papercraft Business Challenge! October features tags of all kinds and types.

I had picked up a pack of purple tags for $1.50 at Michael's. But I had absolutely no idea what to do with them. Until I saw this photo.

The tags gave me a two fold interpretation: as a flower (since my daughter brightens up my day), and the eyelets mirroring her eyes in the photo.

I focused on her eyes because they've always been such an interesting color. Even now, they are a fiercely dark gray/green. I sure hope they stay that way, and that you hop on over to Papercraft Business Challenge Blog to check out future challenges!

For September, we over at the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog are celebrating bears of all kinds! As the scrapbooker of the group, I whipped up the layout below using a cut file for the very first time! It took no time at all to back it using different patterned cardstock.

This layout is all about my leap of faith of moving from San Diego to Seattle. Spoiler alert: it was the best decision I ever made! There is a bear on the Californian flag, and a circle of pine trees amidst a starry night sky--representative of both cities.

Thanks for checking this out, hope to see you join us for the next challenge over at the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog!

August Papercraft Business Challenge

For August, we over at the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog are celebrating circles of every type and size! As the scrapbooker of the group, I whipped up the layout below using some of my leftover ephemera from American Crafts' Head in the Clouds collection by Shimelle.

This layout is all about my little one and their 18 month milestone (and the incredibly long, constantly growing list of nicknames they've already accumulated! I love that I will be able to look back on this one day.

Thanks for checking this out, hope to see you join us for the next challenge over at the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog!

Papercraft Business June Challenge - Up in the air

I loved the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog's theme challenge for this month. It was a great way to highlight our trip to Tombstone, AZ this past fall. It was everything we thought it would be!

I mainly used the wonderful Amy Tangerine's paper pads to complete this. To give it dimension, I fussy bladed a cloud and a few mini airplanes and mounted them with foam tape. Some journaling, sequins (because shiny is life), and pen work made this complete!

Hop on over to the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog and make sure you are following along with the monthly challenges for exciting prizes!

May 5, 2019

Hope you all had a happy scrappy holiday yesterday! Despite our recent loss, crafting was calling to me. I completed this layout for the Mother's Day themed May challenge on the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog, using the JAW-DROPPING Stargazer collection from PaperHouse Productions. How gorgeous are these colors?

This is my first two pages of my super soft and pretty PHP vegan traveler's notebook.

Love it! My page is about my bond with Baby Chunks. I'm counting this as my first Mom's Day, since last year my daughter was a tiny thing.

Not to compare myself with a Superhero, but momhood definitely has the ability to make me feel like I can do ANYTHING! Especially when it comes to your kids. I’m on the blog today with a simple, fun, 20 minute layout using Paper House Productions' beautiful Wonder Woman collection!

To complete this layout, I started out with blank white cardstock. From there, I cut out 2″ circles from the Tags Foil paper, all from the collection. I fussy cut the word “Fierce,” along with a couple of branding strip pieces, and some gold for the tiny background strips. I began layering different pieces, including the incredibly cute matching stickers, to form mini clusters.

Next, I cut a circle frame slightly larger than 2″ for my main photo in the center. I’ve recently become obsessed with free-form pen ink borders, so I threw a couple around the outside. To add a different texture, I added some stepped black splatter, and some quick journaling. And that’s it! Hope you try this one out!

Papercraft Business April Challenge - Easter

The Papercraft Business Challenge for April is Easter. How lucky of us to have our very own Easter bunny! She is a rescue, and was quite literally born on Easter weekend almost two years ago! We love her, and she is so super sweet.

For this layout, I set my timer for 20 mins. I grabbed some Felicity Jane floral paper, stitched the white column paper edging, and kept the embellishments simple.

My Rainbow Chair

Catching up on last week's Scraplift Sunday, I did a reverse rainbow to @4momsed 's beautiful piece of art. I've been working on expanding past my usual neat layers and symmetrical elements. I'd say I'm pretty proud of myself for going way outside of my comfort zone!

This story is about my rainbow chair. When we went to visit Sean's aunt and uncle, she had this GORGEOUS custom reading room, the Rainbow Room. It inspired me to create a similar nook on a much smaller scale, of course. I bought and hung several etched crystal spheres in the window behind my chair, and the way the setting sun's setting light paints mini rainbows on us is just magical.

Papercraft Business March Challenge - Animals

I am so excited to post my second Papercraft Business Challenge! The challenge theme for March was animals 🐎. In the simple 30-min layout, I wrote about our magical multi-farm venture last October 🎃 using 1Canoe2 and Echo Park's Down on the Farm.

February Papercraft Business Challenge: Love!

I am so excited to post my very first Papercraft Business Challenge! The theme for February was love, or hearts, so naturally I did both, writing about our baby girl and how much joy she brings to our lives.

I don't usually dig pink, but I had just gotten in my American Crafts Head in the Clouds by Shimelle. So I painted my background, handstitched the empty space's outline, and fussy cut these beautiful roses. See if you can pop over to the Papercraft Business Challenge Blog, and join us for the fun!

Paper Issues January Sketch

Sliding home for Paper Issue's January sketch. I have very few photos of myself growing up, so this one of my dad on his birthday and I is extra special. I guess I *really* wanted to wear his birthday hat!

I have really been trying to power down on using up the 3 Amy Tangerine paper pads I bought from Tuesday Morning a couple of months ago. They are so easy to coordinate. They work well together, but also easily stand out!

Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues

I apparently took LOTS of photos on our most recent Tucson trip (I just love this city!), and I had three remaining that were unscrapped. I used the scraplift sketch, turned it on its side, and voilà! Officially Tucson done!

Nerd for a day...

Stepping aside from the holidays, here's a layout from the epic Friends of the Library book sale last year in downtown Seattle. I found some bargains to read, and some gorgeous rares with which to decorate! I've been on a Joanna Gaines kick (because really, who hasn't?), so I knew I wanted some books with gorgeous covers to go in my bookshelf. Because who uses their bookshelf for actual reading books, right? (As mine currently live in my reading corner) I ended up lugging literal POUNDS of books in bags across downtown... Definitely felt like a nerd that day!
